Hogue October 26, 2007 Organizational Behavior 2 Introduction The importance of Organizational Behavior and personal success as a manager or leader entail a great amount of effort, knowledge, skills, training and commitment by the individual leader or manager. I am in the beginning of starting a career outside of the military. In the military leadership and management is bestowed upon an individual in a very fast and some times too premature way. The social needs of the team had to be fed. In most locations I have been, usually on Thursday afternoons, organizations gave us either time to socialize or play sports with the troops, and let us off earlier than normal to have family time. Addressing and fulfilling these needs assisted me in being a successful leader at that particular point in my career. Ability to Create Vision Organizational Behavior incorporates all types of philosophies, trained and learned processes. Another aspect I believe that helped and will help me to be a successful manager is the ability to create vision. I am not just thinking about myself when it comes to creating a vision, but also the team members that I will be working with or the staff that will support me. Usually with all tasks there is an objective that we must reach to be successful. Managers have to be able to get themselves and those who work for them to see where they are going. The manager, or as in the case of me being in the Army, the leader has to provide the leadership that provides the direction, focus, and motivation to get the team members to see where he is trying to get them to is worth it. All three of these historical events had a huge effect on one another by one ending, and the next one beginning. Medication must be in original packaging and labelled with childs name, name of medication and dosage. Medication is never left in childs bag, instead is stored in the kitchen either in a cabinet or the fridge as per instructions on packaging. If a child requires long term medication thenà their parents need to fill in a long term medication form to give the staff permission to administer the medication Staff are also required to store any of their own medication safely and away from children 7. 2 Explain how the procedures of the work setting protect both children and young people and practitioners All medications are recorded and multiple signatures are obtained on forms regarding administration, sta ff member signs at time of giving medicine, parents are informed that it has been given and sign to say they have been told. This means that parents cannot make accusations of medicines not being given or that they havent been told about it Medication is stored in the kitchen either in a cabinet or the fridge, depending on instructions for storage and never left in childrens bags. This prevents other children from getting hold of it. Staff bags are kept in a cupboard away from children and in the event of a child getting into the cupboard, bags are kept up on a shelf out of their reach. This means that any medication such as inhalers, paracetamol, antihistimines etc or if the staff member is a smoker, cigarettes and lighters, are not available for a child to get hold of and cause themselves harm. Training is given on a child by child basis for conditions such as type 1 diabetes and the use of epipens and only those who have been trained are allowed to administer for these conditions Staff are required to fill in a medical history sheet if they have any ongoing conditions and sign and record when they have taken any medicines. This protects them as it gives a record of anything they have taken should it be needed.
